All I desire: Ten years ago, a turn-of-the-century scandal over a lover forced Naomi Murdoch to desert her husband and their children for a stage career. Now, returning to their small Wisconsin town to see her daughter in a play, she has hopes of a reconciliation.
Lady Eve: a calculating card shark, falls for one of her victims, a young millionaire. When he finds out that she has been giving him a fast shuffle his fondness fades but she works hard to win him back.
The Miracle woman: After Florence Fallon's father is fired from the church where he preached for many years, she becomes embittered and loses faith. She teams up with Horsby, a con man, and begins faking miracles for profit. The love and trust of a blind man restores her faith in God and her fellow man.
The bitter tea of General Yen: A tragic tale of a Chinese warlord's unrequited love for an American missionary, set during China's Civil War.
Golden boy: Joe Bonaparte wants to be a boxer but his father wants him to pursue his musical talent. Persuading near-bankrupt manager Tom Moody to give him a chance, Joe quickly rises in his new profession. Pushing him in that direction is also his friendly sidekick Lorna Moon. Eventually, Lorna is forced to choose between two loves in her life.
