Summary:

David Fenwick leaves his small mining town to take up his University scholarship. While at school, he is trapped into marriage by Jenny, the jilted girlfriend of the scheming Joe Gowlan. When Joe & Jenny resume their romance, the disillusioned Fenwick returns home where he becomes deeply involved in the miners labor dispute over safety in the pit.
