Summary:
All musical and visual elements for this year's performance align intentionally and substantively with the theme "For Everyone Born." The artistic team chose repertoire that directly marries the Christmas theme with continuing conversations over issues of justice and equity in our communities. This year, you'll notice a degree of individuality as our musicians forego formal concert attire and add their own personalities, through style and dress, to the ensemble's appearance. We selected filming locations to allow for physical distancing between performers at all times, both indoors and outdoors. Masking and distancing during rehearsal, performance, and still photography provides a record of the global pandemic and emphasizes our commitment to living in community during a time when being "together" is inherently challenging. Audio and video were recorded on the Luther College campus in Decorah, Iowa, during sessions between October 8 and 10 and October 23 and 26, 2020.
