Summary:
An unremittingly honest teacher refuses to alter the report card of a dumb pupil to please a rich mother and the headmaster of the school. He is discharged and is taken up by the city's biggest grafter. Threatening to expose his employer, he decides not to when given his degree as a Doctor of Moral Philosophy. The new honor changes him and he takes over his employer's business and his mistress.
