Summary:
A look at the relationship between a misanthropic college professor and a student in one of his English literature classes. The two shorts are Theory of achievement which follows the lives of a group of Brooklynites who would love to make something of their lives, and Ambition, about a day in the life of a young artist who longs for professional success and the attention of beautiful women.
