Summary:
This film is about the attempts of a zealous young woman filmmaker to make a documentary about Mateusz Birkut, a bricklayer who in the early days of the Communist revolution in Poland, was hailed by the State as a national hero for his productivity feats and became as famous as any film star, only to disappear mysteriously from the record books in 1952. The filmmaker is determined to reveal what happened to Birkut and why.
