Summary:
An English maid serving as a missionary in China wins the respect of a curmudgeonly local Mandarin, and the love of a Chinese army officer. When the Japanese invade the area, however, her commitment is put to the ultimate test, as she must lead the children of an entire village to safety . Based on the true-life story of Gladys Aylward, an English missionary that led a group of children through war-torn China in the 1930s.
