Summary:
Presents a production of William Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth designed especially for television. Three witches hail Macbeth as thane of Glamis, thane of Cawdor and future king of Scotland, and tell Banquo that his sons will sit on the throne. Lady Macbeth urges her husband to murder King Duncan and Banquo and his sons. Macbeth kills Duncan and Banquo and is made king. Macduff and Banquo's son Malcolm raise an army against him, Lady Macbeth kills herself, Macduff slays Macbeth, and Malcolm becomes king.
