Summary:
After her marriage crumbles, Sarah Thompson tours Europe where she is captivated by William, Duke of Whitfield. Soon they marry, settling in France. When war is declared, William returns to England while the Nazis take the chateau for their field hosspital. When the war ends, Sarah and William buy jewelry from their neighbors to help the rebuilding effort, the beginning of a family jewelry business. As her husband dies and son Phillip moves aggressively to expand his role in the family business, Sarah struggles to control the simmering sibling rivalry. Infidelity adds to the strain, and Isabelle's husband schemes to get part of the jewelry empire for himself. As Sarah strives to keep the family and business together, a man from her past teaches her that it may be possible to love again.
