The Martin family made available housing for African American students enrolled at Iowa State College (later Iowa State University) from about 1919 to the earlier 1940s. This videocassette features the dedication of a pier in downtown Ames, Iowa, to honor Archie and Nancy Martin. The second portion of the cassette includes reminisces by family members and tributes to Archie and Nancy Martin.
