Summary:
My friend, Flika (1943): Ten-year-old Kenny McLaughlin, a rancher's son, desperately wants a horse of his own. When his father finally agrees to let him choose a foal, Ken picks Flicka, a beautiful but high-spirited filly who comes from a bloodline considered hopelessy wild. It is up to Ken to prove Flicka is tamable or risk losing her. Flicka (2006): All headstrong 16-year-old Katy McLaughlin longs for is to work on her family's mountainside horse ranch -- yet her father insists she finish boarding school. When Kathy finds a mustang in the hills, she sets out to tame the horse and prove she can one day take over the struggling ranch.
