Summary:
Dith Pran is an aide, translator and friend of foreign journalists who are covering the war in Cambodia. When the Khmer Rouge take power he manages to save his journalist friends from execution, but he is eventually exiled to the labor camps in Cambodia's countryside, where he endures four years of starvation, torture and war before escaping to Thailand.
