Summary:
Irwin Fletch, a.k.a. Fletch, is an investigative reporter for a Los Angeles newspaper. While working on an exposé about drug trafficking, Fletch attracts the attention of a strange businessman, Alan Stanwyk, who hires him as a hit-man for himself. Stanwyk claims that he is terminally ill and wants his family to get the insurance policy benefits. Fletch agrees to the murder but senses a scam and tries to uncover the truth.
