Summary:
Scruffy is a puppy who finds herself alone in the world until Butch, a stray, invites her to live with him and his friends. Butch protects Scruffy from many of the dangers of city life until city dog catchers round up all the strays, and Butch and Scruffy are taken to the pound where they will be put to sleep unless they find homes.
