Summary:
Terry, an ex-football player (Jeff Bridges), is hired as an investigator by Jake, a Los Angeles bookie-hood (James Woods), to find the whereabouts of Jessie, his former girlfriend and heiress (Rachel Ward). Terry's investigation leads him to Mexico, where he encounters various criminal activities, including murder, and finds the elusive heiress. Upon finding Jessie, a romantic relationship emerges between Terry and Jessie, which angers Jake, the bookie, to a point of revenge against them.
