Summary:
In the computer-run, subterranean world of the future, humans are so drug-induced that they are, at best, conditioned automatons. Everyone dresses the same and order is maintained by mechanical robots. Yet to live is to hope, and after a dramatic escape from a terrifying surreal prison, THX 1138 stands in the open air of a new age, bewildered, but triumphant.
