Summary:
Five years have now passed since the end of the war and the Arden House medical team function with well-practiced efficiency. The free National Health Service keeps the team busy, kindly administering to the residents of Tannochbrae, who, for the most part, have gradually come to trust their doctors and follow their advice. Even so, as the post-war era unfolds, Dr. Finlay, Dr. Cameron and Dr. Napier face many soul-searching ethical dilemmas in cases that involve child abandonment, addiction, bigotry and infidelity, while struggling to cope with the demanding moral challenges of their own personal lives.
