Since the implementation of Title IX, more girls and young women are active in team sports. Unlike their male peers, there is no hope of multi million dollar MLB, NBA, or NFL contracts. Parents and coaches need to help young women make the most out of their limited years of playing time. Coach R LaShun Williams takes parents and coaches through research that shows how important team sports can be in developing self-esteem and leadership skills in girls. To reach their potential, girls must be coached in ways different than the standard coaching developed to motivate boys.
