This is a hand drawn map of four city blocks of Bloomington, Iowa. Bloomington became Muscatine, Iowa in 1849. The map reads, "A map of the town of Bloomington. In Des Moines County Michigan Territory laid out first of February 1836 by Robert Ousley & Elijah Bunton. Water Street is 80 feet wide, each of the other streets 60 feet wide. Lots 60 feet by 120 feet. Alleys 12 feet wide". A small amount of information on the back of the map relates to the sales of lots.
