Russ Miller and drummer Zoro discuss the evolution of rhythm and blues fron gospel to blues to early R&B to New Orleans to Motown to jazz to soul to funk to go-go to new jack swing to hip-hop to the urban R&B sound of today. Zoro gives practice tips and exercises for approaching each feel, and performs songs that best depict the innovations and stylistic considerations of each sub-genre.
