Summary:
Emma Thompson stars as Dora Carrington, the Victorian Era painter whose passionate life created one of England's greatest scandals. Carrington is unable to possess the one man she loves, Lytton Strachey. Rebuffed, she embarks on a long string of loveless sexual encounters. Her heart remains true to him, but she refuses to curtail the sexual pursuits which erupt again and again in angry passion.
