Uncertain of their own futures they have problems getting their play finished and produced. Their thoughts and experiences in Paris are bound up with two famous Latin American characters whose ties with France were noteworthy -- General San MartiÌn, liberator of South America, and the famous tango singer Carlos Gardel. San MartiÌn spent the last 25 years of his life in French exile and died there in 1850. Gardel, who was born in France, emigrated with his mother at the age of three to Buenos Aires. He became an international music and film star but was killed in a plane crash at the age of 44. No one knew better than he, via the tango, how to sing of the Argentine soul and his ghost appears in a fantasy sequence in the film. 540 $a This film is not available for interlibrary loan, nor does the University possess public performance rights for its showing. $5 IaU 655 7 $a Feature films $z Argentina. $2 gsafd 655 7 $a Feature films $z France. $2 gsafd 655 0 $a Foreign films. 650 0 $a Tango (Dance) $v Drama. 650 0 $a Argentines $z France $v Drama. 650 0 $a Political refugees $z Argentina $v Drama. 651 0 $a Argentina $x Exiles $v Drama. 600 10 $a Gardel, Carlos, $d 1890-1935 $v Drama. 600 10 $a San MartiÌn, JoseÌ de, $d 1778-1850 $v Drama. 655 7 $a Drama. $2 lcgft $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/genreForms/gf2014026297 700 1 $a Solanas, Fernando E. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n87841107 700 1 $a El Kadri, Envar, $d 1941- $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n84226225 700 1 $a Piazzolla, Astor. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n85079728 700 1 $a Vlady, Marina, $d 1938- $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79140808 700 1 $a LaforeÌt, Marie. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n81046094 700 1 $a Wilson, Georges. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n83160459 700 1 $a LeÌotard, Philippe. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n90600151 700 1 $a Sola, Miguel Angel, $d 1950- 700 1 $a Tambutti, Susana. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n97847699 710 2 $a TercineÌ (Firm) $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2004106980 710 2 $a Cinesur (Firm) $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/nr98019417 941 $a 1 952 $l OVUX522 $d 20171229054006.0 956 $a http://locator.silo.lib.ia.us/search.cgi?index_0=id&term_0=B98E905AEC6A11E7AF65C16E97128E48Initiate Another SILO Locator Search
