Summary:

Story of two young lovers in East Berlin in 1961. Sophie is able to escape to West Berlin, but Konrad is forced to stay behind. The meet again briefly in 1968 in Prague and find some happiness. After marrying other people, they meet again later and look back on their unfortunate circumstances.
