Summary:

Presents the early missteps by the South African government health officials concerning AIDS through archival footage and reprints from the newspaper AIDS Times. Film follows the controversial statements made by current President Thabo Mbeki which advance doubts that HIV is the cause of AIDS. It also looks at the work of the organizations South Africa United Against AIDS and the Treatment Action Campaign which challenges pharmaceutical companies for charging high prices for AIDS drugs.
