Summary:
Madeline at the ballet: Madeline dreams of being a prima ballerina and auditions for The Happy Swan, but everyone is chosen except her because she is too small. Madeline in New York: Madeline and her friends visit New York City where Madeline catches a home-run at a Yankee game, wins the Brooklyn Bridge, introduces french fries to the United States, and has a ticker tape parade thrown in her honor.
