Summary:
Child's play represents an important step in a toddler's development. Dramatic and socio-dramatic play requires and enhances communication and social skills, as well as small motor coordination. Just as importantly, playing house or dressing up as a doctor allows children to practice adult behaviors. Children can feel "in control," if only for a little while.
