Summary:
In 19th century Seville, Don Jose, a naive army corporal seduced by Carmen, abandons his career, his fiancee, even his dying mother. However, Carmen soon tires of him and takes up with a toreador. Don Jose begs the gypsy to return to him, but tragedy is the result of her taunting declarations of freedom.
