Summary:
A young songstress sets out to visit her stepbrother in New York only to find he's not the wealthy chap he implied, but rather, a butler for a famous Broadway composer. Now, with no place to stay, Durbin fools the composer into thinking she is the new maid, eventually hoping to sing for him. Sensing his own employment threatened by her ambitions, O'Brien tries to sabotage his boss' and sister's growing attraction by convincing the boss that she is just using him to advance her career!
