Summary:
Victoria Page is a young ballerina caught between her love for Julian Craster, the composer rehearsing her company's orchestra, and her artistic devotion to Boris Lermontov, her ballet master. Against this story is set the story of the ballet, based on the Hans Christian Andersen tale, of the girl whose bewitched shoes nearly dance her to death.
