Mackeben, conductor. Originally released as a motion picture in Germany in 1931.
Summary:
Set in an imaginary London in the 1890s, this musical social satire features 3 rogues--the leader of a gang of criminals, the king of the beggars, and the corrupt London police chief--who end up becoming bankers, pillars of society indulging in lawful robberies rather than illegal activites.
