Through examination of the American government over the last 50 years, Boston University professor and retired U.S. Army Colonel Andrew J. Bacevich explains why the American way of living is wholly dependent on a neverending state of war. With America's global dominance slowly fading away, Bacevich suggests that focusing on Iraq and Afghanistan should come second to focusing on domestic issues.
