Davy Crockett was a cattle drover, bear hunter, husband and father, Indian fighter, soldier, politician, Martyr. He rose from a dirt-poor youth in the hardscrabble hills of Tennessee to earn the love of his countrymen and to strike fear into his enemies whether manning the battle lines in the savage war against the Creeks or walking the corridors of power in Washington.
