Summary:
In ways they can't imagine, a bike accident on a windy day changes the course of the lives of Janet, Alex, Bernice and Jasper. Alex Voorman is a bright, witty, intense, cerebral thirty-year-old in Iowa, when his ambitious botanist wife, Isabel, is killed in a bicycle accident by a drunk driver. Alex's wife is an organ donor and a year after donating her heart to a young mother of two, the woman writes him in hopes of making a connection with him.
