Summary:
This is the first film of Pagnol's trilogy. Marius, son of Cesar, the owner of a cafe, is drawn to the sea, filled with dreams of faraway lands. He loves Fanny, but even this love is not as strong as his wanderlust. Fanny turns him loose to follow his dream and marries Panisse, a rich widower.
