"Inspired by the way that Luciano Berio wrote his own version of Schubert's unfinished symphony with his own extemporisations in the gaps, my short text floats, handwritten, on transparent Japanese paper, overlaying images whose colours have a hallucinatory glare. I wanted a combination of beauty and anguish.. I see it as an object of meditation or contemplation, an attempted dialogue with Mueller and Schubert, and a tribute to his life cut short by a tragically early death.
