Summary:
Jim Scott is an aspiring writer who, together with wife Connie, move into the basement of the apartment building that they have bought. Jim's hope to make a profit are thwarted by the everyday travails of maintaining the building and taking care of the needs of their tenants. Charming con artist Charley targets Eadie as his latest victim and when he is finally caught, he generously offers to tell his story to Jim, thereby launching Jim's career in earnest.
