Summary:
A collection of "Meido no hikyaku" acts by Chikamatsu Monzaemon. Chubei, an adopted son of a courier fells in love with the prostitute named Umekawa. He starts misusing cosutomers' money to redeem her. The secret is soon out and two lovers have no choice but to run. Two different versions of "Fūinkiri" are included as well as original and adapted versions of "Michiyuki aiai kago." Today, acts of "Awajimachi," "Fūinkiri," and "Michiyuki" are usually performed together. However, it was more common to perform adapted "Ninokuchimura" in place of "Michiyuki" in the past.
