Summary:
The story centers on the O'Leary family, whose eldest boys achieve notoriety and power in 19th century Chicago. After Dion helps Jack get elected mayor, they lock horns over Chicago's slums. The whole town takes sides and then old Chicago is wiped out by the fire of 1871.
