Summary:
A presentation of the second of the four operas that comprise Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung), Richard Wagner's epic, which follows the struggles of gods, heroes, and several mythical creatures over the eponymous magic Ring that grants the power to rule the world. In this part, Siegmund falls in love with Sieglinde and must battle her husband, Hunding. The Valkyrie Brunhilde sides with Siegmund and in punished for her disobedience by Wotan, the ruler of the gods.
