Summary:
Judgement night: In 1942 a German finds himself on a British steamship with a sense of impending doom. The purple testament: A lieutenant discovers he has the ability to see which of his men is going die next simply by looking at them. The obsolete man: In a future where books and religion have been banned,a librarian is judged by the Chancellor to be obsolete and is sentenced to death. A quality of mercy: A soldier gets a new perspective on war when he is forced to experience it from his enemy's point of view.
