Examines the conflicts in Israeli society between the different Jewish factions in the 50-year old state. The schism between the extreme orthodox and the rest of the population, from conservative to secular, poses as great a threat to the State of Israel as outside forces. Reformist and conservative rabbis express frustration at the narrow definition of Judaism and wish for pluralism so that there is more choice in the complex Israeli society.
