The orchestra parts originally included parts for a Russian horn band. Summary:
The composer Giuseppe Sarti was employed in Russia from 1784 to 1801. Between 1787 and 1791, he served under Prince Potemkin during the Russian-Turkish war. He composed two Te Deum settings during that time to celebrate his patron's victories. This volume presents the first setting, which features the Russian version of the Latin Te Deum text.
