In Miami, rivalry between two women reporters leads to death. While working on a car hijacking story, Britt Montero befriends Trish Tierney, only to learn Trish is stealing her sources. The two become enemies and when Britt is caught in a police crossfire, while travelling in a car with a suspect, she blames Trish for arranging it. When Trish is found dead, suspicion falls on Britt.
