Summary:
On guard: It takes the cavalier Lagardr̈e sixteen years to avenge his friend the Duke of Nevers, who was assassinated by the infamous Gonzag, who would later become the king of Paris finance in the sumptuous days of the Regency. Five day lover: Claire, a young mother married to Georges, but also having an affair with bachelor Antoine, who is being kept by her good friend Madeleine, a wealthy fashion designer. But the meetings at Antoine's apartment, five afternoons a week, come to a halt when their partners learn the truth.
