La así llamada 'crisis de los refugiados' es un fenómeno que ha propiciado tajantes divisiones en la Unión Europea y que ha generado sentimientos de temor y repulso hacia todo aquello que es ajeno a los valores culturales locales. Gran parte de nuestra sociedad desea tener una identidad nacional étnicamenta pura o ser de un país compuesto solamente de personas selectas procedentes de lugares selectos. Es por ello por lo que resulta de vital importancia investigar y comprender los prejuicios benignos, hostiles o incluso maliciosos generados con respecto a los otros. El heco de que los 'grupos grandes' se pregunten '¿quiénes somos ahora?' se ha convertido en una cuestión clave en los asuntos mundiales de hoy en día. En efecto, ha provocado el resurgimiento de prácticas religiosas y culturales centenarias en un esfuerzo por estabilizar una 'nueva' identidad y propiciar el miedo al otro. Por todo ello, este libro utiliza las herramientas de la psicología y el psicoanálisis para examinar los asuntos políticos y sociales relacionados con los colectivos, tanto desde el punto de vista de los inmigrantes y los refugiados como también el del los países receptores. The so-called 'refugee crisis' is a phenomenon that has led to sharp divisions in the European Union and that has generated feelings of fear and rejection towards anything that is alien to local cultural values. Much of our society wishes to have a pure ethnic national identity or to be from a country made up of only select people from select places. That is why it is vitally important to investigate and understand the benign, hostile or even malicious prejudices generated with respect to others. The fact that the 'large groups' ask 'who are we now?' it has become a key issue in world affairs today. In effect, it has sparked the resurgence of centuries-old religious and cultural practices in an effort to stabilize a 'new' identity and foster fear of the other. For all these reasons, this book uses the tools of psychology and psychoanalysis to examine the political and social issues related to collectives, both from the point of view of immigrants and refugees as well as that of the receiving countries.
