A ghost story featuring a saint. It is set in the English countryside and begins when newlyweds John and Emily Wakelin buy a house. John leaves on business and Emily is left alone in the house to work on an embroidery commissioned by the local church. The subject of the embroidery is Saint Walter Tappet, a Protestant martyr, and his ghost appears to Emily begging for help.
