Annabelle runs from Seattle toward the nation's capitol to escape the emotional pain of the last year and her experience with "The Taker." Her grandfather, her brother, and two of her friends follow her in an RV, and people across the country follow her progress at a distance. Ultimately Annabelle needs to find a way to deal with, not run from, the guilt and the shame of her past.
